St. Pat’s Ta-Da

I figured with St. Pat’s right around the corner it was time to look for a few things to do!
The first thing is this Guinness Chocolate Pudding!
Then I found these great Bottle Decorations.
Here are few more for Leprechaun Spirits.
I saved the best for last site had water bottle labels, straw flags and more!
Of course I found something completely off topic… LOL!
Cherry Pie Filling…. Oh, it looks so good!
I plan on staying home this year for St. Pat’s so I thought it would be nice to have a few things to amuse us.. LOL!

Food Network Special - The Big Waste

Do I feel Spring?

For some odd reason I think that spring is coming quickly. I have had cleaning tendencies... Nope not pregnant... I would have for sure told you if I was.... LOL! I have been in a mad rush to get inside things done. So far I have finished 3 items for Christmas and the 4th one started. I got the curtain for the bathroom done. The three curtains for the dining room are all done except for the tie backs... can't find the grommets. I even almost finished another bag.. but the sewing machine had a malfunction so I had to stop and take it apart to fix it. Never did get back to it last night.

Today I need to finish that bag. Work more on the Christmas present. Get started on the bathrooms new washcloths. Do some more cleaning and maybe even get a workout in.

Oh, I forgot to tell you.... Since Picky has become quite the little baker I thought it was time to find an alternative to fake frosting. I found a recipe for a marshmallow frosting.

005

Pixels and Paperie were kind enough to share the recipe on their blog.

So far we used in on cupcakes and then we used it as the center for these....

This picture came from One Good Thing by Jillee... as did the recipe!

As you can see we have been busy here.... Lets see what else needs to be done!

The Story of Us

A guy I went to high school with kept telling me all about this biker guy he knew. The guy was older and would be perfect for me. Just what I needed, another old biker looking for a young hottie.. LOL! So I resisted for almost a year. He kept bugging me and I kept finding reasons not to go meet this guy.

One day we were out and my friend said that he had to stop by the guys house because he was going to sell him some part for a car. So my friend parks out front and proceeds to go to the garage. I sit in the car and wait. I didn't want to meet this guy and sure as hell didn't want a relationship. I sat stubbornly in the car for almost an hour waiting.

Of course I got pissed and walked up the driveway to the garage. And what do I see? This really cute guy no older then me but way taller. He was covered in grease and overalls... Did I mention how cute he was? Well, I just thought that bore repeating. I can honestly say that it was love at first site.... It took him a bit longer to figure it out, but isn't that always the way!

We have had our ups and downs. But I couldn't imagine doing this with anyone else!

Love you, Grim

Keeping Busy

I have been keeping busy. First have the tooth pulled was not fun. I am still experiencing jaw pain. The site where the tooth was is healing really well. So in a couple days I should be good as new.

The first set of pictures is the legwarmers that I started while waiting in the hospital for Walter. I finished them last night. They go from my knee to my ankle.

Here is a dishcloth that I finished knitting last Saturday but finished the ends today.

I have been wanting to make these bags for awhile. So when the monsters cleaned out their room I had my chance. Just cut off the arms and neck. And sew the opening and voila you have a bag! The one pictured is my new knitting on the go bag! Love it!!

Picky monster made up the Cake batter pudding cookies last night. I realize that my oven is really off by almost 3 minutes so one day when I have nothing else going on I will have to call a repair person. I also have to have Grim look at the washer. The drum is sitting at an angle. Its always something.

I am still waiting on my wool share from Cold Antler Farm. She has been sending it out in batches since before Christmas. Hopefully, it will come in one day soon. I am getting antsy.

Time has come

I am finally going to get that tooth pulled. My appointment is in a hour. I have been on antibiotics again because it has gotten infected. This is the tooth that ruined most of the summer last year. I had planned on getting an implant but unfortunately I didn't have the money. So it just needs to be pulled.

While I was at the hospital Saturday, I got about another 2 inches done on the legwarmer before it got dark in his room. ( He was sleeping and we didn't want to turn lights on ). Then I pulled out the cream washcloth, and got that finished. So now that is done. Oh, I wanted to let you know what I found in Canada.... Sugar and Cream yarn here is Bernat over there. Here you get 2 or 2.5 oz over there I can get skeins of 12 oz. So hopefully, next weekend I will get to the store and get a couple skeins to make more wash clothes.

Wish me luck! Gotta Go!

I will be headed out tomorrow for the 3 hour drive to the hospital. I wish he was closer for convenience but I am thrilled that he is where he is getting the care that he needs. He has had a couple bad nights but that could be because he is sleeping most of the day and then up all night. My mom said that he is moving his mouth but still no sound.... So I am going to see if I can read his lips. The doctors are planning on doing another surgery next week to take care of the last 2 tiny aneurysms. Once that is done he will be able to completely be on the road to recovery.

I have the second legwarmer almost done maybe another 6 inches. I also have another washcloth almost done. I forgot to tell you all. Teenage monster went for her sewing class. She loved it. They made a zippered bag. So cute. She even made one for her uncle in the hospital.... Hopefully, he will be well enough soon so she can give it to him. But she is planning on making them for gifts. I am thrilled that she knows how to deal with a zipper!

I'm a Bear

What wild animal are you?
The Bear
Your rational thought and practical measures in life allows you to play it safe, and make hard decisions that many cannot make. As a natural warrior with body and mind at peace, people who identify with the bear are trusted and often sought after for advice. The bear can symbolize those who protect and sustain peace in their daily lives. These people are often the best mediators and tend to control situations and find the most realistic solutions.

St Brighid’s Day

Today is my day as are many others... LOL! But this one holds a special meaning in my heart. It was a day that was given to me when I was 15. My god given name is unimportant as I go by many. But for the sake of this tale I am Bridgette, from the Irish Gaelic root Bridget... Meaning Resolute Strength.

her laughter is a sweet melody to hear: is a resolute, practical and conservative; is inspiring and caring to her family; home and family are appreciated by this lady; likes to be useful; has a melodious voice and an intriguing smile; her words produce wisdom and foresight; she loves to stay busy.

That was off of one of those name meaning cards.

I am all that and more because when I was 15 my grandma had a brain aneurysm that was misdiagnosed and ruptured. After the surgery, she was no longer the independent woman about town. She had to rely on people to help her to say the simplest of things. She would go through the names of her children (6) trying to get the right name with the right child. Often she failed miserably, calling my mom by one of her brothers names and so on. With me being her first grandchild, she never called my by one of her children's names, she called me Bridgette. She always knew it was me that she was talking about or to when she called me by my new name. So it became the family joke that I was Bridgette.

A few years after my gram died my Aunt got me the name card referenced above. It is a sweet reminder of a wonderful woman. Now that my Uncle has had an aneurysm I joked that if when he was able to talk if he called me Bridgette, I would be legally changing it... LOL!

I hope that you all have a Blessed Imbolc!
